The Role:

Our client requires a Chartered Civil Engineer with experience of building large industrial facilities with complex structural requirements (structural dynamic seismic and nuclear considerations) to support the delivery of the regeneration programme.
The role is to provide guidance and support for major new build construction projects at our clients site in Derby.

An exciting role where you will act as an IC (Intelligent Customer) for CS&A (Civil, Structural and Architectural) within a multi-disciplinary design team to ensure the appropriate delivery of plant, equipment, systems, structures and safety cases to modern standards commensurate with the requirements of a nuclear licensed site and the multifaceted needs of CM/CPC (Core Production Capability) programme.

You will be leading aspects of Civil Engineering on complex building projects, with experience of all phases of the construction process; from concept design phase all the way to project completion.

*Maintain nuclear safety and HS&E at all time, integrating this as the overriding priority into the construction project.
*The ability to provide support for contractors and 3rd parties. This will include acting as an Intelligent Customer on behalf of our client. Responsibility for; Reviewing and authoring specifications, calculations and plans produced by subcontracting organisations.
*Working within a multi-disciplinary team and RRSL Design Authority to deliver the structural engineering scope of the regen project. Proactively providing expert structural engineering opinion at project meetings, site meetings and design review meetings.
*Ensure that all engineering resources assigned to their projects are competent and are able to deliver key project milestones. Where necessary identify areas of design and technical risks, then develop and implementation of risk mitigation plans.

Must Have Requirements:

*A Chartered Structural (MIStructE)- or working towards a chartership, or Civil (MICE) Engineer, supported by a Strong academic background with BEng or MSc degree with design modules for steel, concrete, structural mechanics, structural dynamics and seismic design.
*Demonstrable structural design experience of complex building structures of structural steel and reinforced concrete. With considerations for seismic and structural dynamics design.
*Experience with British Standards and Eurocodes (Steel EN 1995, Concrete EN 1992, Seismic EN 1997, basis of design EN 1990 and actions 1991).
*In-depth experience of working in Civil engineering roles, with the ability to deliver pragmatic, technically sound and cost-effective engineered solutions to address user requirement.
*Ability to review and scrutinise plans with a view to recommending the acceptance/rejection of engineering services (designs, projects, tasks) delivered by third parties to their projects
