Our client is looking for a Civil Engineering Project Planner this role is to oversee logistics, deploy workers, manage budgets and ensure that work is on schedule. You'll work closely with estimators, engineers, surveyors and architects to keep projects on track and manage conflicting priorities..

The successful candidate will be based to the Riverlinx CJV to design and construct the Silvertown Tunnel. This new tunnel will connect the Greenwich peninsula and the Silvertown district. The design includes a 1.4-kilometre twin-bore road tunnel under the River Thames as well as 0.6-kilometres of access ramps. It will connect south of the River Thames with the access to the existing Blackwall Tunnel and north of the River Thames with the Tidal Basin Roundabout, in Silvertown, easing traffic congestion in this key London location.

Minimum Requirements for the Position:

Education and Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in an engineering related field, including building management, construction engineering,

Experience, Skills and Behavioural Competencies

* Experienced in project/programme planning. (Essential)

* Experience of planning in a work winning/tender team (Essential)

* Experience from working on large-scale infrastructure projects (Knowledge of English language, maths, and geography

* An understanding of project planning, scheduling, tracking, reporting and risk management. (Essential)

* Knowledge of Earned Value Management and Critical Path Analysis. (Essential)

* Knowledge of contractual issues in a project environment. (Essential)

* Able to work well with others

* Able to use a computer and the main software packages competently

Business Performance

* Creating, maintaining and reviewing a programme of work

* Ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget

* Liaising with surveyors, engineers and architects

* Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders

* Breaking large jobs down into phases of development

* Using project management tools to plan timeframes

* Working with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project

* Planning contingency programmes in case timeframes change

* Meeting with contractors and suppliers

* Demonstrating knowledge of construction

* Writing bids for tender

* Managing several projects with the support of junior planners

* Working between offices and construction sites

Other

* Programme schedule management of complex and inter-related projects and programmes of work, including resource scheduling and cost loaded programmes.

* Implementation and management of earned value analysis.

* Development of programme schedule baselines to track and performance

* Pursue standardisation and streamlining to improve efficiencies in reporting, including continuous improvement of tools and techniques
