One of my long-standing contractor clients is seeking an experienced civil engineering Quantity Surveyor ideally with a background in civil engineering projects and in particular roads and highways maintenance.

You will be working for a mid sized privately owned contractor with four Regional offices across the south of England.

Role

Job/Contract Management
- Ensure contract/job information is accurate and up to date
- Produce details and information to support applications
- Respond effectively to client requests and resolve problems promptly
- Monitor contract delivery/performance and address any internal issues

Quantity Surveying
- Undertake accurate measurement of the works
- Notify customers of additional works, value and agree
- Review and validate contractor documentation taking action as required
- Prepare responses to clients and address any issues
- Assess contract progress to establish completed work

Job Management and Invoicing
- Prepare and submit Applications and Invoices to customers
- Ensure all income and monies due to the Company are recovered and paid promptly
- Ensure internal invoices are raised against Applications paid
- Review Daily Progress Reports from Foreman and act on any Additional

Works carried out
- Measurement on site

Reporting and Administration
- Maintain database of jobs and Invoice/Application details.
- Maintain spreadsheet tracking Site Records
- Maintain quotes file and log quotes information on Database and assist in preparation monthly reports on Income and Work in Progress

Ideally

- BSc/HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercially related subject
- Relevant CSCS Card

Technical Skills and Experience
- Awareness and experience of construction methods, technology, standard forms of measurement and forms of contract, and health and safety requirements
- Ability to work on site where necessary
- High standards of written communication, verbal, computer, numerical and inductive
- Skilled in analysis and problem solving
- Collaborative, and keen to share information, knowledge and skills
- A strong focus on internal and external customers

- Able to take a structured and methodical approach to any task, identifying priorities and setting deadlines
