Are you currently an Associate Structural Engineer with a medium consultancy, or a Principal Structural Engineer in a major organisation? This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join and take spearpoint of a medium sized team in London and to take lead on project deliveries, business development, and day to day management of the team. Excellent stakeholder engagement is key for this vacancy.

The position exists with a large multidisciplinary consultancy who are looking for an Associate Director to lead their Structural Design Engineering team in London. The ideal person will have a range of UK-based experience, and have the capability for work winning and business development.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects in the local, national and international levels, mainly ranging from the £10m through to £100m ranges.

Your main role will be to lead and to shape the structural engineering team in London, with a large proportion of your responsibility being client-facing and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. You'll also be responsible for liaising with clients and stakeholders, generating lew leads and winning repeat business with current clients, and new clients. You'll be working on projects from initial feasibility through to design deliver, and must be competent in liaising and communicating with a host of engineering professionals.

Job description:

- Lead and manage the structural engineering team in London, being the point of contact for the majority of queries and affairs within the region

- Be able to win repeat business and new business within the London market, and further afield

- Have strong client and relationship management skills, as well as solid technical leadership and proven managerial experience

- Excellent ability to produce fee proposals, cost estimates, and effectively engage with existing and prospective clients

- Have experience in a variety of structural sectors, such as education, power/energy, residential, industrial, leisure/sports and others

- Ensure smooth operational management and running of the structural engineering team in London

- Have an understanding of project management principles

- Have excellent knowledge in reinforced concrete construction

- Have excellent knowledge of relevant design standards, particularly on EuroCodes

- Have strong structural engineering analysis software experience, such as with SCIA, Tekla or similar software

- Experience in the design and development of new build designs

This is a permanent position in London with a large multidisciplinary consultancy, who are searching for an Associate Director Structural Engineer to join their team in London. You will report to the Director, and be responsible for the day to day management of the team, and successful implementation and delivery of projects.
