Structural Engineer

An established and respected consultancy is now looking to find the next senior member of their management team. We are looking for a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer who has a diverse background of experience and strong business acumen.

This person should be personable and approachable as they will be representing the company at a senior level. This company covers several sectors including renewable energy, commercial and residential.

Projects tend to be varied and based both locally and nationally. They include:

High end bespoke residential
Multi-storey accommodation
Industrial
Housing
Heritage (currently working on three castles)

This independent business has a fantastic reputation and a team which includes several chartered structural engineers all experienced with mentoring engineers through their chartership. Due to a sustained period of growth the business is now opening a Bristol office. We are looking for senior technical staff from building structures backgrounds who can lead the design output for the office. It is essential that candidates enjoy a 360 role where they will be taking responsibility for their own projects as well liaising with all various stake holders. In regards to progression and opportunity, there is enormous advantage that comes with joining a team at this early stage and as we've seen in the past, roles like this get snapped up fairly quickly

Key responsibilities:

Managing complex projects up to £30M in value
Business planning
Fee earning and billing
Mentoring/training of staff
Team management

Working with architects and main contractors.
Building positive relationships to complement an established team
Strategic thinking in managing change
Motivated to develop self and others with the business
Driving the business in a direction consistent with existing reputation and portfolio

Salary circa £50,000 + flexible working
