EXPANSION PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR
HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE MAINTENANCE
Job Summary
The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) proactively maintains and improves County-owned roadways and bridges and oversees mosquito control operations. HBMD is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of bascule and fixed bridges, sidewalks, asphalt pavement, drainage system, guardrail, and landscaping in public right-of-way under the County jurisdiction.
HBMD's Expansion Project Administrator manages large scale programs and projects for the Division from inception to final completion. This position is part of the Division management team. This position leads and executes highly complex technical and administrative work involving County roadways, bridges and related infrastructure. Sample tasks include design development, consultant and in-house staff management, mentoring junior staff, implementation of new technologies or work approach, problem solving, and proper application and/or development of technical data, policies and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in architecture, engineering, construction management or closely related field.
- Requires four (4) years overseeing contracts in engineering and/or construction management which involved design/construction projects or closely related experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have one or more of the following:
- Master's or higher degree in Engineering, Construction Management; and/or Business or Public Administration
- Current registration in Florida as a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification
- Four (4) years of experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and/or MicroStation in roadway and/or a bridge maintenance environment.
- Four (4) years of experience with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Plans Preparation Manual
- Four (4) years of experience with government contracts and procurement
- Four (4) years of experience performing roadway or bridge design, construction
