Come join a team of professionals to work with local advocates, code consultants and industry allies to propose state and local code changes that support concrete construction and defends against code changes that would be detrimental to concrete construction.

Provide technical support to NRMCA members and state affiliates regarding local codes and standards, legislative and regulatory issues.

Be a valuable resource for NRMCA members and state affiliates to promote statewide minimum building codes that allow for amendments more favorable to concrete construction.

Interface with national staff to develop strategies for adopting federal legislation and regulations that would be favorable to concrete.

Educate members, state affiliates, design and build community and policymakers on building code issues.

Influence International Code Council and other codes and standards committees.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Make strategic decisions and judgments. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Develop and deliver presentations to target audiences. Cultivate relationships with design, build and policy allies. Gather and analyze data and generate reports. Create, compose, and edit written materials. Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Analyze and solve problems. Collaborate with internal team members and external partners. Use tools such as office productivity software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture or other construction related field. Advanced degree a plus. Minimum 5 years' experience working with state, local and national building codes. Working knowledge of energy analysis a plus. Working knowledge of green building standards a plus Working knowledge of environmental life cycle assessment a plus Working knowledge of resilient construction a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position requires significant travel (25%) Pack and ship heavy printed material and other supplies (50 lbs.)  Work from home office located reasonably close to a major airport in the United States.
