Bid Manager, Civil Engineering/structures
* Central London based (hybrid 3/2 set-up an option)
* To £75k + bens
This leading specialist contractor, based in the heart of the capital, takes on complex civil engineer schemes across London.
As Bid Manager, you'll be working as part of the preconstruction team, supporting the relevant bid leader/owner (usually a director) in ensuring all the components of the bid are covered and actioned. There can be several different bids at any one time, so juggling bids at different stages simultaneously is crucial.
They'll be lots of running around, gathering the info/stats to include in the bid, so ideally you'll come from a similar specialist civil engineering contractor - wearing lots of different hats is a pre-requisite. As is persistence and organisation!
You'll need to be a genuine self-starter and be pretty motivated - in return, you could find yourself in a more senior role in a few years. To begin with, and to re-iterate once more, it's all about your ability to work with various bid leaders, be persistent enough without coming across as a nuisance, and work to tight deadlines for getting completed bids returned.
It's a brilliant, busy company with extremely interesting and challenging projects, so lots of chances to use your creativity. Due to the complexity of their projects, they'll be lots of different elements to each tender for you to oversee.
