Responsibilities
The Civil and Structural Engineer role, within the Engineering Services Department, will provide Civil and Structural Engineering advice and support for all Peel Ports entities across the Mersey Cluster of Ports. With scope of works ranging from maintaining >100yr old assets to installation of state of the art facilities, this role has plenty to offer.

Responsibilities will also include:

-Identification, adoption and implementation of engineering standards and statutory requirements, communicating adopted standards and ensuring the upkeep of said standards

- Collaborating with electrical and mechanical colleagues to produce planning for multi-faceted cluster properties

- Technical accountability for civil engineering discipline on projects which includes assurance that the engineering deliverables are compliant with cluster requirements

-Guide internal stakeholders on engineering decision making for the benefit of the Mersey Cluster

- Lead the development of procedures and policies for the execution of various civil scopes of work

- Provide project stakeholders with technical support and monitoring of execution issues and provide resolutions to technical queries

- Coordination of civil engineering CapEx and OpEx budget setting for approval
Skills and Experience
- Degree educated in Civil Engineering (or closely related discipline)is essential

- Preferablyregistered with the appropriate professional institution or working towards accreditation

- Experience in the construction industry, projects environment or consultancy work

- Good knowledge of Marine or Port environments

- Experience of CDM, site safety, tender process, design review and statutory body contact

- Robust experience of multi-scale projects and hands on management
