Role & Responsibilities
The position of Building Structures Specialist is an important role working within a team of senior staff engaged in Due Diligence/Latent Defects Insurance roles. The team are engaged in structural and building envelope assessments on some of the most prestigious new buildings in London, the wider UK and further afield across Europe.
The successful candidate will be undertaking the review and inspection of building structures systems and will have wide ranging experience of a variety of building types within both design and construction.
You will need to demonstrate a mature and experienced attitude to working closely with clients and in this role your expertise and advice may be called upon on a day-to-day basis by the client.
Requirements
·Professional qualification as a chartered engineer with either the IStructE or ICE
·Experience of design and construction of building structure systems across a variety of building types from concept to construction
·Knowledge and/or experience of basement waterproofing standards and systems would be advantageous but not essential
·Deep knowledge and experience in design of standard materials, i.e., concrete and steel, is essential; knowledge and/or experience of masonry, timber MMC and modern materials would be advantageous
·Good communication skills
·Excellent report writing
·Experience and confidence in client-facing roles.
·Proven track record of strong client liaison/relationships
·Comprehensive knowledge of regulations/legislation
Preferred skills/experience
·Experience of Due Diligence/Latent Defects Insurance work
·Expert Witness experience
While there will be the need to be flexible to meet client demands, this role can primarily be based from home and from the London offices.
