About the opportunity:

Due to continued growth, our client is recruiting permanently for an internal environmental monitoring engineer who will be responsible for looking after their noise, dust and vibration live monitoring system on their sites, enabling the company to comply with both client and regulatory needs and requirements. You will be required to work on demolition and general enabling works sites in London where you will have to work in inclement conditions and under time constraints.

The bulk of the work is maintaining dialogue with sites ensuring limits and levels are not breached, downloading data from websites, compiling / writing reports and maintaining records of readings from environmental monitors. General duties will include but not be limited to the following:

* Maintaining noise, vibration and dust monitoring equipment both in situ and in storage.

* Writing and maintaining records of readings from environmental monitors.

* Ensuring maintenance of the asset register and calibration data for all company equipment.

* Assisting with preparation and submission of documents including noise modelling and example reports, aid in the compilation of method statements, risk assessments and other site-specific documentation.

* Attending training for various tasks as required for projects.

About the Requirements:

The skills listed above are a broad need, more importantly our client is looking for someone who is willing to learn. No specific qualifications are needed but a good education and ability to write reports is essential. You will however need to be a logical thinker and have excellent problem-solving skills. Also, it is essential that you can absorb new skills, get to understand new monitoring equipment quickly and be able to process the resultant data quickly under pressure. A high level of administrative and organisational skills is also essential so you can manage the purchase and hire of equipment. Excellent Microsoft office skills, especially Word and Excel is required. Furthermore, you will need to be proficient in using computerised systems and able to manage your own diary. A good and broad understanding of Cellular and Ethernet networks and be able to interact with experts on remote systems would be an advantage.

About the rewards and benefits:

For this permanent opportunity, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however successful individuals could expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £32,000 and £38,000 per annum. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
