CIVIL ENGINEER
Harris Civil Engineers is a well-established civil engineering firm providing design services for large site development projects including single family and multi- residential, resorts and commercial developments. We are expanding and currently have an excellent opportunity to join our organization and become an integral part of our team. This is a full-time position located in our Orlando office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in land development site design analysis with other team members with clear and specific objectives involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and/or equipment. Assists in the preparation of complete project documentation to include plans, specifications, and engineer estimates including the collection, assembling, and organizing of project data. Evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to project assignments; formulates and solves problems with guidance and direction. Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work; works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects using time efficiently to stay within budget and deliver on time. Assists in the preparation of project scopes, tasks, budgets, and schedules. Interacts and collaborates with contractors, and other project team members. Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments/project.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. 1-7 years’ experience in civil site and drainage design Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Stormwater permitting experience Grading and drainage design experience Utility design Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, AND SKILLS
- Analytical skills to perform engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of Facilities related systems.
- Proven ability to work with team members of diverse experience and educational backgrounds.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans and specifications.
- Experience with generating drawings, specifications, acceptance test procedures and maintenance/training documents.
- Proficient in developing and tracking project budgets and schedules.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
