Graduate Structural Engineer

Singh & Jones are working with an established LGSF Contractor, who turnover £45m a year. My client specialises in providing design, manufacturing and installation of light gauge cold rolled steel structures. Due to client demand and strategic ongoing growth, we have been tasked to recruit a Graduate Structural Engineer who has a minimum of a years experience in the industry as an Engineer

The position will be reporting directly to the Technical Manager, and your duties will include;

* Liaising and dealing with a variety of light gauge steel structural projects through the design and drawing office

* Producing structural calculations using in house software's such as MathCad and Tekla Structures

* Design engineering of medium rise building cold rolled and hot rolled structures

* Clearly communicate designs and concepts to customers

* Provide technical engineering support and advice to contractors which includes general structural, fire, acoustic and thermal issues

* Represent the Company at design team meetings and site visits when necessary at various locations across the UK

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified, ideally with a MSc in Structural Engineering but my client will also consider candidates with a BSc in Civil Engineering. The role requires the candidate to have a sound knowledge of structural design of buildings, and be able to work on all build materials but focus on steel. Candidates who are members of the ICE/iStructE would be preferred
