Overview2Fawcett -Construction & Infrastructure are proud to be partnering with a Tier 1 civil engineering specialist in the Utilities, Built Environment, Transport and Energy sectors. They partner with blue-chip, regulated, and private clients as part of large frameworks, joint ventures, and alliances, as well as on individual projects. The business recognises that they are only as good as the people they employ, which is why they invest in regular training and development, utilising their dedicated training facility.Reporting to Site Agent, the Site Engineer will take ownership of the survey control for the projectand set out detailed works as per the contract drawings ensuring that checks are made on a regularbasis.Key Accountability and Responsibilities* Promote the cardinal rules and establish safe working cultures and practices.* Offering technical advice on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives* Managing the site and parts of construction projects* Overseeing building work and ensuring the quality of the work* Setting out, levelling and surveying the site* Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent.* Produce site diaries and allocation sheets* Production of ITP check sheets in line with the ITP and specification.* Ensuring the plans, drawings and quantities are accurate for calculations* Supervising site security, health and safety* Organising and overseeing material and human resources.* Managing the design documents supplied by the client* Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis.* Liaising with the local authority to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws* Reporting progress and other updates back to clients* Planning the work efficiently and adapting to any setbacks or difficulties* Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.* Ensure work is delivered defect/snag freeCollaborative Working* To work collaboratively with the client and wider project delivery team ensuring effective and timely communications, proactively managing the expectations of the clientAudit and governance* Comply with the governance as set out by the client* Work with the wider team and client audit team to ensure all documentation are available for audits as required.* Demonstrate compliance to ensure scores remain in the upper quartileKey measures & targets* Accurate and timely setting out of works* Timely handover of works and quality records without outstanding defects.* Production of accurate records, drawing* Registers and weekly diariesKey relationships* Project Delivery Lead* Project Manager* Site Manager* Client* General publicExperience & Qualifications:* Experience setting out on Civil Engineering projects* Knowledge of construction methods, Health and safety and legal regulations.* Specific experience with drainage, earthworks, structures, and water.* Have some experience with AutoCAD* Temporary works Co-ordination* Degree qualified in civil engineering or HNC or equivalent in civil engineering as a minimum.* CSCS Card* Cable avoidance training* NEBOSH or IOSH* Self-driven, results oriented with a positive outlook* Able to communicate well at all levels
