Job Description: Assistant/Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Environmental Engineering beginning Fall 2023. Applications at the assistant professor level are especially encouraged although exceptionally well-qualified applicants suited to appointment at the associate professor rank may also be considered. Candidates with research and teaching interests that complement those of the existing faculty are desired. Example areas of interest include, but are not limited to, physical-chemical processes; contaminant fate and transport; water treatment and reuse; indoor air quality; food-energy-water nexus; environmental health; and sustainable development. The selected faculty member is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop an externally funded research program, and direct graduate students. The selected candidate is also expected to engage in service activities with professional organizations and at the university.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering or a closely related field at the time employment begins. The selected candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The selected candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has 27 faculty, approximately 600 undergraduates, and 120 graduate students, and offers B.C.E., M.S., M.C.E., and Ph.D. degrees. The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn is comprised of eight departments.
