Woodward Design + Build is a regional leader in the design and construction community, with an office culture that encourages innovation and offers challenging career opportunities. We are looking for a talented candidate to design and analyze new and existing structures and conduct construction administration. In addition, the successful candidate works closely with our Architects, fellow Engineers, Cost Estimators, and Operations personnel, both internal and external. This individual will also mentor our Engineer-in-Training as they develop their experience and work towards their eventual engineer license. We offer an excellent work environment, as well as a wide range of exciting projects. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications we are looking for:

 

  • Ability to perform job duties by following WDB’s core values (Reliability, Courage, Teamwork, Determination, and Humility). Conform to the Rules and Ethics of the State Bard of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Under the Responsible Charge of the Woodward Engineer Group Division Manager, prepare Structural and Civil Engineering project plans and specifications for pricing, permit and construction. Design structures to meet estimated load requirements, computing size, shape, strength, and type of structural members and perform structural analysis of plans and structures. Determine feasibility of designing new structures or modifying existing structures considering costs, available space, time limitations, sustainability considerations, and other technical and economic factors. Perform site visits to review existing and new construction without any special assistance. Have excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills. Maintain PE licensure through acquiring Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and be able to obtain reciprocal PE licensure in other states if requested. Fundamental knowledge of computer operations and the following applications:  MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), *MS Streets and Trips, *Revit based products, and *RISA Products. *Indicates that Woodward Design+Build (Engineering department) will assist in training on these programs. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited University in the USA Master of Science Degree strongly encouraged

Be registered in Louisiana as a Professional Engineer, or as approved by the WEG Division Manager Must be in and maintain good standing with State Board of Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors Other responsibilities may arise on an as-needed basis.
