This position will have the option to telework (up to 3 days per week)!
The purpose of this position is to provide oversight of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Process delegated to the Local Public Agencies (LPAs) for construction projects funded through the Federal Highway Administration. To assist LPAs in developing and processing local road, bridge, safety & enhancement projects that have been approved to use Federal aid funding. This includes providing technical assistance and training on NEPA and documentation requirements, review and approval of environmental documents and design exceptions, and coordination between Local Agency MnDOT Office of Environmental Stewardship and Federal Highway Administration staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). If obtaining licensure through comity (reciprocity), a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting.
AND
Three years of experience in the following areas:
- Interpreting and applying environmental requirements, federal regulations, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials guidelines, and design criteria and standards to projects. Experience creating, reviewing, or implementing NEPA documents including project memos, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements.
