THE  DIVISION
The City of Visalia's Community Development Department Engineering Services Division serves the City by providing a wide range of engineering services to the development community. The Division is responsible for general plan check services, processing tentative and final development plans, public infrastructure plans, legal documents, and subdivision maps. The Division’s staff are committed to customer service, safety, and providing high-quality engineering support and services to other City Departments and the public. 

POSITION
We are recruiting for Assistant/Associate Engineer depending on qualifications. The selected Engineer will be responsible for the review and processing of multiple development projects and shall assist with the various tasks required of the Engineering Division. Development projects include but are not limited to building permit plan check, final map and subdivision improvement plan processing, legal document review and processing, construction management, utility coordination, agency coordination, development fee assessment, right-of-way procurement, public outreach, and similar type work. The Engineers will be expected to coordinate and work collaboratively with other departments and divisions. Other responsibilities include engineering research, City Council presentations, and public assistance.
