Your new role, what's involved?

Undertake the role of 'Net-zero Carbon Lead' / 'Sustainability Lead' for high profile Leading thermal modelling and energy strategy work on multidisciplinary projects across a range of sectors
Undertaking dynamic thermal modelling (IESVE) analysis including: Part L Assessments, Comfort Analysis (TM52/59), natural ventilation studies and daylighting.
Undertaking studies relating to BREEAM Credits including: thermal comfort, low and zero carbon technologies, reduction of emissions, predicted operational energy and daylighting.
Undertaking residential Part L assessments utilising accredited SAP software as part of large scale energy strategies
Preparing Energy & Sustainability Statements for developments to complement planning submissions. This will include coordination and managing energy / sustainability contributions from many different design team stakeholders.
Preparing high quality reports that clearly and concisely communicate the issues involved and the conclusions. The preparation of sustainability and energy strategies will be a core part of the job role.
Support bidding for new opportunities including contributions to marketing material and attendance at interviews for projects at a range of scales
Undertaking domestic and/or non-domestic EPCs for new and existing buildings


You will work closely with likeminded individuals on exciting and challenging projects.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

Experience in a similar role with a passion for low carbon, low energy design. A background in Building Physics and passive design is preferable
Experience in Dynamic Thermal Modelling (ideally using IES software and/or Grasshopper/Ladybug)
Experience in undertaking Part L Compliance calculations for both non-domestic and domestic buildings. Knowledge of HVAC systems modelling using ApacheHVAC or similar would be an advantage
Experience of undertaking Standard and Climate Based Daylight Modelling
An understanding of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methodologies (Accreditation with BREEAM/LEED/WELL would be an advantage)
An Engineering background and an understanding of Mechanical Building Services
Skills in assessing the feasibility of renewable and low carbon energy solutions
Motivation to identify opportunities to win business and referrals from existing and new clients
Be able to effectively communicate to clients both inside and outside the business
Understand and deal with the commercial aspects of contracts and client interaction, ensuring work undertaken matches the scope and fee and when appropriate, claiming additional fees
Experience and/or accreditation with Passivhaus or other low energy building standard
Have strong experience as a sustainability or energy consultant or in a related role
Degree in engineering/environmental or sustainability related discipline
