Senior Rail Civil Engineer

We are currently dealing with a major Engineering Consultancy who are looking at recruiting a Senior Rail Civil Structural Design Engineer to work on such major projects as HS2 and TRu with the role being based in Birmingham. As the Senior Rail Civil Structural Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of Civil Design Engineering projects, ensuring the needs of the client and the business are met. Typical duties of the Senior Rail Civil Design Engineer can include, but not limited to:

Acting as Lead Design Engineer where appropriate
Undertake the CRE duties on Rail Civil Structural Design projects
Proactively contribute to the effective and consistent implementation of company policies and procedures whilst maximising all opportunities with clients.
Apply company procedures and systems to promote high levels of health, safety and wellbeing of staff and other stakeholders whilst leading and managing a team of Civil Engineers, graduates and technicians

Job Requirements

Professionally qualified Chartered or Incorporated Engineer
Experienced within the rail sector and ability in the use of Network Rail procedures and standards.
Experience of designing and checking civil engineering deliverables.
Ability in the use of Eurocodes.
Experience in the use of computer analysis programs.
Experience of contract conditions, processes and procedures
Ideally experience of managing/guiding less experienced engineers
Ideally acted in a CRE capacity, or familiar with role
