Role: Senior Temporary Works Engineer
Location: Hybrid / London with travel
Salary: Perm - £31-£50k DOE + car allowance
Summary:
A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join a leading energy solutions company. You will be required to support the New Build/Regeneration side of the business to ensure that temporary works are effectively planned, designed, and implemented. The role will be at a supervisor's level, working with project teams and contractors. The ideal applicant will have previous experience of designing and checking temporary works as well as good knowledge of the relevant design codes and standards. If this sounds like you apply today!
Key responsibilities:
Provide guidance & advice on compliance with statutory requirements/engineering solutions
Designing and preparing design drawings and specifications for a range of temporary works.
Checking and signing off temporary works on site and completing relevant permits
Assist with the appointment of contractors and provide onsite and verification inspections.
Proactively working with operational teams during the project lifecycle
Assisting the business with implementation of the ISO and OHSAS relevant standards
Highlighting areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred
Investigating incidents and producing detailed factual reports
Assisting the SHEQ department and liaise with enforcing authorities as necessary
Working on the development/implementation of divisional level strategies for improvement
Keeping up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry Skills and experience required:
A relevant civil or structural engineering degree.
Membership of a relevant professional body e.g., MICE & a valid CSCS card
Experience of designing and checking temporary works e.g., propping, falsework scaffolding
Knowledge of the relevant design codes and standards applicable to temporary works.
Good understanding of geotechnical issues and design.
Experience of using IT solutions for preparing and checking designs.
Experienced in the use of AutoCAD
Good at developing relationships at all levels of the management structure
