Our local authority client has a 3-month contract vacancy (with the possibility of extension) for the role of a REPAIRS CHARGEHAND, details as follows
Job Purpose
To join our Empty Homes Team to carry out surveys, post inspections, site visits for H&S checks and welfare visits, and to assist the Team leader with one-to one's and general other day-to-day tasks. Part of the role will also require communication with our Home Improvement Team who carry out Capital component replacements while the property is Void to improve our housing stock across the district, such as Kitchen, Bathrooms, Rewires, Re-Roofing, Doors, and Windows etc. You will be joining a busy team, so must be self-motivated and able to operate under your own initiative.
Essential Requirements
Must have a trade background and have had at least 12 months supervisory experience.
Must have Asbestos Awareness
Must have Trade Certification
Up to date certificates must be available prior to start date.
1 year + experience is supervising a team of operatives
Trade background preferably in social housing
Experience of working in a customer /tenant facing environment.
Working to the required timescales.
To liaise with the Asset Management Support Team to ensure job activities are scheduled effectively.
To utilise all tools, accessories and equipment issued in an appropriate manner.
Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Must hold a full driving license and supply own transportIf you have the necessary experience and qualifications to fulfill this role, please submit your CV ASAP
