An opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer (with a minimum of 5 years of relevant UK work experience) to join our team.
BPDM Structural Engineers are a busy practice of Structural Engineers primarily engaged in structural engineering design and drawing work across the Residential, Commercial and Aviation Building sectors. The practice is currently looking for a candidate who will contribute to the development of its team and get involved in projects from inception through to completion stage.
The chosen candidate will be offered ongoing support and development opportunities to progress towards becoming a Chartered Engineer unless already held.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Working independently in the production of concept designs and detail structural design calculations within defined project timescales. Liaising with other construction professionals in the development and coordination of designs. Undertaking structural analysis and designs using software packages and by hand as required. Production of AutoCAD drawings and quality reviews of drawn information prior to issue.
Other general roles and responsibilities include:
Responsible for the analysis and design of building structures, progressing to overall design of structures. Attend external design meetings / site visits with clients and other design team members. Structural surveys and inspections and preparation of structural survey reports. Prepare correspondence and technical reports.
Skills required:
Masonry, Timber, Steelwork, and Reinforced Concrete design to BS and EU Codes essential. Steelwork connection design. RC detailing. Proficient in using AutoCAD. Being able to produce a set of construction drawings for projects. Good report writing skills. Must be IT literate with experience in structural design software packages. Must be technically competent. Ability to lead a project. Ability to speak and write in English.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.Experience: 5 years minimum, experience in UK building structures design.Education: Meng or BEng (Bachelor's degree) minimum 2:1 required.Work Permit: You must have full eligibility to work in the UK without a Sponsored Visa.Job Location: Central London SE11 6SR
