Structural Engineer , Kent, Up to £50,000 per annum, plus bonus, pension and benefits;
Apply your structural engineering expertise within the client side of the industry. This career opportunity provides design and management exposure with the support and training to achieve chartership. The position is with one of the UK's leading operating companies, they manage and develop a substantial estate and have embarked on a major expansion programme.
You will play a leading role in delivering new developments, improvement schemes and the maintenance of existing assets. Their site is spread over a vast area, it includes RC, steel and masonry buildings with extensive road, bridge and drainage infrastructure. As a key member of their engineering team there will be support from a team of inspectors and co-ordination with M&E disciplines.
Duties: With the support of the head of civil & structural engineering you will be involved in the frontend design of buildings and civil structures within your area of technical expertise. The specification and management of external consultants, front-end and occasional detail design production and design supervision. Management of the estates' inspection scheme and assisting in the development of asset maintenance strategies. Providing support and guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and inspection team.
About You: A degree qualified civil or building structures engineer. A design background focused on either buildings, bridges, infrastructure, industrial projects or similar. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to forge constructive working relationships with contractors, consultants and a range of in-house colleagues. There will be regular visits throughout the site, a current valid UK driving licence is essential.
