Chief Engineer - Energy Storage

Expleo are currently working with a niche vehicle manufacturer, globally renowned for lightweight ground breaking vehicles, who are currently recruiting for a Chief Engineer within Energy Storage, on a permanent basis, in the UK.

The Chief Engineer for Energy Storage will hold overall responsibility for the technical delivery of all Energy Storage Engineering for in-house programmes and external services, you will also be integral to the process in developing world class technical solutions and capability.

Responsibilities of the Chief Engineer include:

* Engineering Delivery and Technical Leadership
* Complete concept, detail and final designs for Energy Storage solutions
* Ensures robust design validation through simulation and optimised physical testing
* Responsible for Energy Storage engineering gateway delivery to programs
* Ensure department deliver to vehicle programs on time, cost and to required quality
* Responsible for the release of validated Energy Storage systems and components on time and within specifications
* Responsible for defining and maintaining commodity strategy for Energy Storage components
* Responsible for technical excellence of the department
* Implement and maintain the appropriate governance within the department
* Lead the definition and approve the component technical specifications supporting vehicle targets
* Continuously develop processes and tools to meet world class standards
* Ensure teams are operating to objectives

Background and experience required for the role of Chief Engineer include:

* Ideally Degree educated in a relevant discipline
* Experience in senior engineering management
* Ability to build, develop and manage a team
* Strong relationship builder, with a collaborative approach to work
* Proven track record of senior leadership within automotive engineering
* Strong experience in Energy Storage development, from concept to production
* Leadership in project delivery from concept to launch
* High level of technical credibility
* Results Driven
* Business Acumen
