I am looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with extensive design experience to sit within the heart of this Geotechnical team within a brand-new office, with stunning views in the Salford Quays area to help technically lead on design project across the UK.

Due to an increase in workload, the Geotechnical team are looking at expanding with a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to help with growth and deliverables for a range of projects crossing the rail and electrification/power sector across the UK, giving you an extremely diverse range of geology, rock hazards and ground conditions making your portfolio very interesting.

The position as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer will have direct line managemnt responsibility of junior engineers and will be situated in Salford Quays with free onsite parking and easy tram links for commuting, although this consultancy work on a flexible basis.

Your work as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer will consist of writing/revieing desk studies, risk assessments, foundation assessments, piling/earthworks specs, as well as designing across all aspects of slopes, foundations and retaining structures etc.

As a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you should be able to demonstrate:
  • 1st degree in Civil Engineering with a relative MSc in Geotechnics or Soil Mechanics.
  • Chartered with ICE or CGeol
  • Will have proven previous experience of undertaking: geotechnical desk studies; procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs),
  • Demonstrable experience of geotechnical design together with a familiarity of design submission documentation. This includes a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles and a knowledge of Eurocode 7
  • Ability to use a range of geotechnical software/FE for the design of civil engineering projects including the following: deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis); embedded and gravity retaining walls; earthworks/slope stability; reinforced earthworks etc.
  • Full UK driving licence
