Due to growth, my client is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer who wants to make a difference. Their team are skilled, motivated, and environmentally aware. This role will work closely with their Partner/Senior Associate and work on all aspects of a large variety of projects including drainage design, flood risk assessments, car park and hardstanding construction design, road design and many other areas. It will suit a highly innovative thinker, who wants to make a difference. You'll be a Senior Civil Engineer, with excellent written English skills, with a track record in structurally led projects including underground drainage design and storm and foul water attenuation design. You must have extremely strong proposal-writing skills and AutoCAD Civils 3D. Ideally, you'll be from a similar sized practice.
Other areas of responsibility:
Responsible directly to the Partner/Senior Associate for the financial and technical control of the civil engineering aspects of various small and medium sized projects
Keep careful control of all issues on a project and be responsible for the technical aspects of the work.
Liaise with their Architects, Clients, and other external professionals, always representing the Practice in a professional and courteous way.
On larger projects, assist the Partner/Senior Associate in managing financial, technical & resourcing issues.
Delegate to manage and direct Engineers and Technicians involved on projects.
Prepare and present occasional internal seminars to the Practice on various projects and issues.
As well as your prior Civil Engineering experience and communications skills, they are looking for innovation, someone who wants to do things differently where possible and a keen interest in architecture and design. You must also have:
Underground drainage design for projects ranging from ‘one off' domestic houses with pumped basement drainage through to large residential and mixed-use sites.
Pre-planning application, drainage strategy and infrastructure advice.
Storm & foul water attenuation design
SUDS techniques and implementation
Financial control of projects, appointments and fees.
Involvement with high profile Architects
An ability to develop new business and work autonomously.
Good project management skills including an ability to manage time, resources, costs and communication within and outside the Practice.
Good team working ability and an open, positive and approachable attitude.
Ability to work autonomously
Ideally, they would also like someone with experience in flood risk assessments, road design, car park and hardstanding construction design, PDS 9 Cut and Volumetrics.
