We are working with a Medium-Sized multidisciplinary Consultancy that are looking to expand their Structural team, they are located conveniently in Hemel Hempstead. The role they are looking for is an experienced Associate Director-Structural Engineer to co-lead the current team of 10 Structural Engineers and Technicians at the office, but this does include hybrid working. As an Associate Director, you will help lead and manage the Structural Engineering team on numerous projects, making sure that the team undertake design to the required standards, deliver projects on time and take into full consideration the standards and programme deadlines. The projects you would be co-leading range from small scale to large scale projects up to £20m. The Responsibilities include:

* Speaking to the Company Directors regarding the financial, technical and project management control of Structural Engineering aspects of projects

* Strong business acumen with the ability to maintain existing and develop new relationships with clients.

* Lead and develop project teams, supervising and training Engineers and Technicians

* Involve closely in the mentoring, appraisal and development of Engineers and Technicians

* Liaise with clients, architects, subcontractors and other professionals whilst carrying out duties and representing the business in a professional and courteous way

* Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against specifications

* Highlight issues to the contractor, client and project manager as necessary

* Review calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others

* Assess sustainability and environmental impacts of projects

The candidates skills & experience should include:

* Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience in Structural Engineering design

* Chartered Structural Engineer status

* Understanding of the finances involved in a Structural Engineering department

* Proven track record of successfully delivering projects and satisfying clients.

* Good understanding of the UK construction market

* Capable leadership experience is desired

* Proactive thinking

* Proficient use of software such as Tekla, Revit, Tedds & Masterseries

* Good written & spoken English
