Our client is an independent engineering consultancy with a true passion for historic building preservation and restoration and they are looking for a like-mind Senior Structural Engineer to join their close-knit Edinburgh office.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on the conservation of some of Edinburgh's most iconic buildings as well as designing bespoke, new constructions for private clients throughout the UK. Due to the project pipeline, you will have a genuine influence on the skyline of the city - 50 years from now you will be able to see you work throughout the city and the wider country.
You'll be part of a small team of ten enthusiastic engineers (and growing) working in a Victorian style office with excellent public transportation links nearby that allow you to access the office from most parts of the city in under 30 minutes.
As the headcount is small, the directors are very hands-on and are happy for all engineers to be creative and influence the design process whilst demonstrating engineering flare and ability to tackle complicated challenges.
SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER PROFILE
As a Senior Structural Engineer, it is expected that you will be able to work independently, manage your own workloads, and collaborate with other engineers in the office. Although, you will report directly to two directors, all employees of the office are happy to offer help and guidance.
Working from home is a possibility, however the directors prefer to have all staff under one roof as much as possible and believe that this contributes to a close-knit, family-oriented office environment.
