A fantastic opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to join a Water Utilities business in the South East of the UK. This is a permanent full time staff position based from the Worthing area, though would accommodate hybrid working options for the successful candidate.

You will be assisting, and checking design work whilst providing support for members within the team, along with the management of sub consultants working within the design team.

You will be:* A leader, leading a team, understanding the roles within the team, and working co-operatively with other teams to achieve business aims.* A critical thinker, empowered to make decisions and drive resolutions.* Solutions focussed, identifying and resolving complex engineering issues, and proactive, demonstrating a high level of initiative.* An innovator, carrying out research and reviewing research information to assist in promoting continuous improvement.* An excellent communicator, negotiating and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders.Your core responsibilities will be:* Developing and maintaining projects in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environment and quality standards, and ensuring the project team comply with such standards.* Ensuring that the design programme is achievable, provide early warning of delays and ensuring designs are delivered on time.* Providing technical guidance and leadership of the project team.* Preparing financial data to assist others in making business decisions, and ensuring lowest whole life cost and TOTEX solutions are delivered to outperform the business plan.* Producing design plans and estimating time to carry out specific tasks in discussion with PDL and PM community; and being responsible for the gathering, production and assimilation of information to assist in preparing designs.* Ensuring designs are aligned with customer expectations to ensure outcomes customer satisfaction.* Line management of staff including duties ensuring staff development and performance appraisals.* Management of sub-consultants including supplier selection, performance appraisal and invoice approvalThis role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working. You will receive a salary of up to £53,500 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
