Our client is a Leading Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy with an excellent industry reputation. Engineers with a passion and expertise in the design and delivery of high-quality award-winning buildings, structures and public spaces. They are currently looking to appoint a Structural Engineering Associate in their Manchester office.
As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will oversee the delivery of a variety of building projects across the UK, across a range of sectors including residential, education and commercial development and regeneration. You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and high profile private and public-sector clients and collaborators.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
" A degree in Civil/ Structural engineering
" Chartered with the ICE or IStructE
" Typically, a minimum of 7 years' relevant design office experience
Day-to-day task and expectations
Technical
" Overseeing engineering design
" Identifying problems and opportunities, directing others to assess and resolve problems using qualitative and quantitative measures, and supervising others to do so
" Coordinating and reviewing the production of high-quality written reports on a range of projects
" Overseeing preparation and presentation of technical data
" Undertaking Internal Reviews of projects across the practice
" Self-checking and checking others' work
" Compliance with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015
" Compliance with the practice QMS, including self-checking
Managerial
" Overseeing a number of projects: understanding overall programme. Company input consultation requirements, liaising with the project team, managing client expectations, feeding any matters arising back to Directors
" Project resource allocation
" Regular direct telephone and email contact with clients and collaborators
" Attending and contributing to meetings as a sole representative.
" Managing, mentoring and developing members of the team
" Business development to include networking, identification of opportunities, writing bids and fee proposals etc.
" Project financial and commercial awareness
" Contribution to business strategy

" Demonstrating rigour and professional commitment by being Incorporated or Chartered Status
" Participation in and presentation at Lunch and Learns and other CPD opportunities
" Maintaining a record of your CPD and a Development Action Plan
