Our client has an immediate vacancy for a civil engineer to work within our experienced Nottingham civil engineering design team.

The firm is an SME with over 60 employees working for both public and private clients in a range of sectors including housing, education, health, retail, commercial, industrial, heritage, care and leisure.

The team works for clients throughout the East Midlands and United Kingdom, designing SuDS drainage schemes and highway works using Microdrainage and PDS industry standard software with final drawings produced in AutoCAD.
The team also carry out river modelling and flood risk assessments.

Skills required:
- BSc/BEng (Hons) qualified civil engineer
- An able communicator, both in written English and verbally, in person and on the telephone
- Knowledge of the CDM Regulations and construction industry health and safety
- Computer literate, being fully competent in the use of Word and Excel
- Drawings to be produced in AutoCAD
Desired:
- Experience in the use of Microdrainage and PDS would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:
The Civil Engineering Vacancy Nottingham role will involve the design and drafting of SuDS schemes, private externals works, Section 38 and Section 104 works for adoption.
The role will also include the design and drafting of civil engineering works for a variety of sectors.
Designs range from multi-storey structures to small housing schemes and range in construction value from £250,000 to £30M.
Many projects are undertaken to BIM level 2.
Subject to experience the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake river modelling and flood risk assessments.

Experience:
The successful candidate will be given on the job training to develop their skills and they will work closely with the other members of the civil engineering team.
We operate an ICE registered training scheme which will be open to the successful candidate, if applicable.
Knowledge of the CDM Regulations and construction industry health and safety is essential.
A logical analytical approach to problem solving should be demonstrated.
Experience in the use of Microdrainage and PDS would be advantageous.

Location: Nottingham
Hours of work: A minimum of 37.5 hours per week, core hours are 9am until 4pm, Monday to Friday where staff are required to be at work.
Holidays: Allowance is in line with industry standard and is subject to relevant experience.
