Experience of working in a facilities role and managing subcontractors?
Have been involved with Health & Safety and have IOSH, NEBOSH or similar qualifications?
We have an excellent opportunity, based in Crawley, working with our growing manufacturing client, who are looking for an experienced Facilities & Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to join the business. The purpose of the role will be to take responsibility for the upkeep of the site through the management of facilities contracts and sub-contractors as well as ensuring that Health & Safety is being adhered to through checks, observations and writing and updating of policies and procedures.
This role also has an environmental aspect to it. My client are constantly looking for ways to be greener and more energy efficient, be it using solar power, reducing power usage or other aspects so any experience of sourcing and delivering projects related to this would be highly beneficial.
This is a flexible role where you can either work 5 days a week or compress your working hours into a 4 day week and we are looking for someone who is time served in this field with relevant competency based experience.
Key responsibilities:
This role requires someone that has a good ability to be able to speak with and work with colleagues and 3rd party contractors or all levels and backgrounds. We need someone that will work in the best interests of my client at all times

- Upkeep of the manufacturing site
- Work with and supervise facilities contractors and sub-contractors
- Install a sense of continuous improvement with regards to all things related to the facilities
- Manage the facilities budget
- Provide support, service and guidance in continuing to make the whole site a fully functioning and environmentally friendly workplace
- Project manage facility works from concept to completion
- Be the point of contact for utility companies on visits and inspections
- Work closely with the engineering team to provide a high level of maintenance and repair
