Associate Civil Engineer£60,000 - £75,000 (Depending on Experience)Manchester City CentreA triple-office Infrastructure and Transport Planning firm based in Manchester City Centre are currently on the lookout for an Associate Civil Engineer to join their team of 9 in their office of over 30.The company have offices in Manchester, Leeds and Essex and are ideally looking for someone to work across a number of projects in Transport, Highways, Infrastructure and Drainage, but will largely be required to work on Residential Housing Schemes as well as in the Commercial sector.This company have a genuine commitment to work/life balance. They operate a 35-hour work week as well as a flexible working policy that only requires you in the office two days a week. The right Associate Civil Engineer will:
  • Have at least 10 years' experience in a similar role within Consultancy or Housebuilding background
  • Be able to win work and bring clients to the business
  • Be educated to degree or HNC level.
  • Be Chartered or Incorporated member of the Institution of Civil Engineers preferable but not essential.
  • Have the ability to manage a team of Engineers and Technicians and mentor junior members of staff.
  • Have the ability to analyse and monitor project finances.
  • Be experienced in the design of roads and sewers on residential developments
  • Be client-facing

The company are relatively flexible on precisely what skills they're looking for and will actually consider Principal level candidates with experience managing junior staff. Some of the key skills and expertise required for this role will include:
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Practical understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Working knowledge of 3D software package (PDS, Civil 3D or similar) for highway design and ground modelling.
  • Working knowledge of WinDes MicroDrainage to design and model new drainage systems including sustainable drainage.
  • Project management of multiple projects
  • Understand and implement Designer's duties under the CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Working knowledge of Sewers for Adoption 6th/7th Edition & DCG
  • Working knowledge of CIRIA SuDS Manual C753
  • Working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges

Packages:Packages for the right candidate will start with a base salary of around £60,000 - £75,000 depending on experience but will also include a twice-annual bonus scheme paid in April and December as well as a flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays, childcare vouchers and private health care as well as regular training and career development.There is also an excellent 8% non-contributory pension scheme and 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays.If this sounds like you, please contact Andrew Wilson at Calibre Search or apply within.
