Our Opportunity

Our Structural Engineering team are passionate about creating and delivering innovative designs that are tailored to our clients requirements. Due to growth we are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join the team in Manchester.

You will be responsible for the design and management of a diverse range of projects across sectors to include Defence, Education, Refurbishment of Commercial & Retail, Leisure and Local Authority. You will deliver technical and commercial structural solutions, developing a design brief from internal and external clients/ project managers.

Typical Duties will include;
  • Preparing supporting calculations and preparation of drawings for a wide range of commissions in all usual materials and structural forms
  • Assisting with day to day commercial management of structural engineering commissions
  • Act as a point of contact for queries/informal structural engineering advice to others both from within and beyond the Practice
  • Responsible for ensuring that they (and where appropriate their team) understand and comply with all Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures

You will also have support to achieve chartered status, with mentors for both IStructE and ICE and access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the chartership process.

About You

As a Structural Engineer you will be passionate aboutdesigningsustainablebuildings, workingwithin a forward thinking multi-disciplinary practice and be enthused by workingacross varyingsectors within the built environment.

Technical competency requirements:
  • Experience relevant to UK practice, ideally with a design consultancy
  • Minimum of BSc or BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering (2.2 min.), MSc or MEng preferred
  • Knowledge of UK design standards, codes of practice and methods of construction
  • Familiarity with structural engineering modelling, analysis and design software
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit, competent in using Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds and STAAD Pro softwares
  • Approaching Incorporated/Chartered membership of ICE or IStructE - desirable
