We are currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team at Dover!

Salary: £35k - £50k DOE +benefits

Structural Engineer Duties:

Wed love to hear from you if you are passionate about playing a critical part in keeping the Port running smoothly:
  • Design and assessment of a fascinating variety of structural types (e.g. bridges, jetties, quays, roadways, mooring equipment, office and security buildings, industrial units and so on), ranging from heritage assets to the modern development.
  • A strong network of expertise within the team will support you to increase your skills and confidence in areas where you are less experienced.
  • Collaborate with our engineers and stakeholders to ensure designs, specifications and drawings meet consistent high standards.
  • Offer technical guidance to the business to ensure assets are used safely.
  • Help manage a programme of inspections, working in partnership with in-house inspectors and external specialists, to make recommendations for maintenance to maximise the lifespan of our assets.
  • If you have an interest in project management, there is the option for the role to include project management working with contracts, managing budgets, programme and risk, and ensuring projects are delivered safely.

Structural Engineer Requirements:
  • BEng/MEng and working towards or near Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers
  • Thorough background (minimum 5 years post graduate experience) of undertaking structural designs to applicable structural codes/standards. Previous design experience could be related to buildings, highways or maritime structures.
  • Effective communication of structural concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations
