We are looking for an experienced buyer to join an established company with works in rail civils.
Main duties:
* To procure materials, equipment, plant and consumables in a cost efficient manner in line with job requirements
* Source and price supply chain requirements and prepare tenders.
* Liaise with the commercial team and site managers regarding sourcing of required plant, labour, materials etc in relation to contract works
* Negotiate, add value and ensure that all quality issues are dealt with in a timely manner
* Ensure that delivery of materials is always on time and handle replacement of any damaged/non-conforming deliveries as required
* Liaise with the relevant Directors at all stages of works and provide input to contract cost reports.
Requirements
* Experience in a similar role
* Experience of construction/engineering is essential for this role
* Ideally you will also have some railway experience, although this is not essential
* CIPS - desirable
* A-Levels or a relevant industry qualification
* Strong IT skills
* Good negotiation skills
