Expedite, a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy firm providing a comprehensive range of project management, civil and structural engineering, and M&E design services is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with 3-10 years of experience to join our team.

We are looking for a candidate who is proficient in the delivery of Flood Risk Assessments for a wide range of projects in accordance with the NPPF. We can tailor the role to include a wider variety of highways and detailed designs if this role is of interest to any potential candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing FRA's for a wide range of schemes across the UK (Residential, Commercial, Retail, Industrial, Education, leisure, healthcare, maritime, high-rise and more)
  • Production of surface water drainage strategies, incorporating SuDS and associated hydraulic calculations
  • Production of foul water drainage strategies and supporting foul flow calculations
  • Production of drainage maintenance reports and supporting drainage documentation
  • Attending meetings with clients, design teams, local authorities and statutory / non-statutory consultees.
  • Ability to identify flooding and communicate drainage related constraints and opportunities at development sites
  • Writing clear and concise reports
  • Ability to produce design drawings and details
  • Mentoring junior staff

Required Experience:
  • Ideally a relevant Bachelors or Masters Degree
  • Ideally Incorporated or Chartered status.
  • Ideally 3-10 years + experience
  • Good knowledge of the planning system, in particular policy and guidance including the NPPF and SuDS Manual
  • Understanding or current H&S / CDM guidelines / regulations and general good working & design practises
  • Understanding of hydrological and hydraulic modelling principles
  • Good financial control, project management and communication skills in a client facing role

Desirable Experience:
  • Any relevant experience in highways design and technical submissions for Section 38, 278, and 104, 185 agreements design will be an advantage but is not essential
