The Role:
The Avove Design team is recruiting for Graduate Civil Engineers, with an interest in Water/Wastewater Engineering, to work in our dedicated Design and Construct (D&C) teams currently delivering an expanding workload for our clients on a number of D&C frameworks throughout the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team on a wide variety of projects covering all aspects of Wastewater and Water networks, and treatment facilities through the project lifestyle from feasibility design through detailed design to construction.
The position will be based in our Eurocentral Office and will involve a mixture of hybrid working. You will be required to provide support to a Senior and/or Principal Engineer within a design team to ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards and that the delivery of all the specified project outcomes are on time, within budget and to the quality required.
Responsibilities:
Undertaking outline and detail design, both individually (under supervision) and as part of a wider team, for projects within specified timescales.
Assisting with design support activities during construction.
Implement the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards
Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence
Be confident to work under minimum supervision and competent to check the work of others.
Carry out site visits, surveys and inspections
Prepare and check feasibility studies, inspection, assessment and technical reports and other written documents in an appropriate format ensuring compliance with Avove procedures
Comply with the requirements of the companies Integrated Management System including Health & Safety, Environmental and all other appropriate regulations
Prepare/check design approach, calculations, drawings and documents
Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate apply best practice within the team environment
Qualifications:
Degree qualified to satisfy the current entry requirements for: CEng or IEng through ICE, or equivalent professional qualifications for technical disciplines relevant to civil, or water engineering.
Preferably working towards attaining a relevant civil or water engineering professional qualification, either through approved training or another approved route.
Skills & Experience:
Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite and relevant engineering software packages
Demonstrable experience in Water / Wastewater Engineeringpreferable
Good written and oral communication and organisational skills and to produce reports in clear concise English
Desire to develop existing skills and acquire new technical competences to enhance personal and team capability
Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines
Proven enthusiasm to embrace and participate in career development initiatives
Full Driving Licence
