They are a consultancy of experienced Engineers, Geologists, Applied Environmental Engineers and Environmental Scientists. Their long term aim is to provide a national service delivered by local offices, run by technically proficient staff with a strong business acumen.

They now have a vacancy for a Graduate Geo-Enviromental Engineer to join the client based team in either their Reading (South East Office) or Bath (South West Office). The consultancy work on a 4 day compressed week, meaning, they work longer days Monday to Thursday and everyone gets Friday off!

Job role:

* Assist with investigation and assessment of contaminated land

* Conduct risk assessments, options appraisal and remediation design

* Support site works from initial investigation through to implementation and verification

* Prepare technical and non technical reports inc input into relevant EIA chapters

This exciting role will involve assisting in the delivery of contaminated land assessment within the Land Quality team, covering sites within a broad range of public and private sector clients from a wide variety of disciplines.

The role will also include close collaboration with the brownfield remediation/waste team, EIA coordinators, environmental specialists and colleagues from other disciplines.

The successful candidate will support the site assessment of potentially contaminated brownfield land, including health and safety considerations, desk study investigation and reporting, and intrusive site investigation design, management, risk assessment and reporting. The role will require outdoor working to cover site works, including site reconnaissance, environmental monitoring and sampling, intrusive investigation, and supervision of ground engineering works.

Additionally, assistance will be required in the preparation/presentation of proposals/bids as required, and on a range of EIA tasks, including site visits, risk assessment and reporting, to fulfil the requirements of projects.
Full support to Chartership will be provided, including being assigned a mentor to regularly review progress and career development
