Our client is currently looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer to fill a permanent opening located in central Edinburgh, a short walk from various major transport links.
Interested candidates should have demonstrable UK buildings structures design experience, which will include working with all common construction materials and structural forms.
Applicants must be confident 'client-facing' Engineers as a fair amount of time will be spent managing a key framework brand who have several developments underway or at design stage.
Responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer:
Execute engineering activities (concept, front end engineering development, technical study & detailed design)
Ensure that designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures
Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule under guidance of a Senior Engineer
Support Graduate Engineers with training/mentorship
Maintain good communication with the client, third parties and multi-disciplinary colleagues
Requirements of the Senior Structural Engineer:
Competent in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation
Competent in the use of design and analysis software
Competent in design safety/environmental requirements, procedures, and responsibilities
Must have a broad range of buildings structures design experience
Ambition to become an Associate Director within the next 5 years

The starting salary for this position ranges from £45,000 to £50,000 (depending on experience).
