Are you an enthusiastic and proactive Civil Project Engineer looking for a role which will allow you to manage the entire lifecycle of new infrastructure projects for an expanding and exciting Port and Logistics development site? We are looking for somebody who has some years of experience in delivering construction projects and who is keen to further build on that experience to join us at this exciting and rewarding time of our development.

What will the role entail?
  • Proactively appointing, coordinating and manage design consultants, contractors and other suppliers in delivering infrastructure projects at London Gateway.
  • Monitoring and supervising civil, building works and/or services contracts.
  • Ensure all works on site are carried out in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.
  • Contract administration of minor works and supporting Head of Civil Engineering in contract administration of major works.
  • Reporting to senior managers on contract (or elements of the contract) progress and budget and advise on actions needed to keep the project to the agreed programme and budget.
  • Contribute to the continuous business improvement process and to the meeting of business objectives.

  • What you will bring to the role.
  • BEng or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing construction on site.
  • Full driving license.
  • Proficient in process management.
  • Strong analytical skills and confident in handling and interpreting numerical data and information.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and knowledge.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of civil and building projects life cycle.
  • Ability to manage tendering and procurement process for various stages of projects.
  • Strong understanding of industry standard contracts and ability to deal with contractual items.
  • Strong persuasion and commercial negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaboration/teamwork needed to facilitate change initiatives.
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude/proactive, self-motivated.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • A sound working knowledge of AutoCAD desirable.
