Remuneration: £40,000neg + discretionary bonus

The role of the Design Engineer Heavyside Construction will involve:

• Design Engineer position producing designs for temporary formwork systems
• Liaise with Tier 1s including: Kier, Laing ORourke, Skanska, Bam Nuttall, Ground Construction Ltd, Munnings etc
• Production of scheme drawings for our clients formwork product range
• Produce material lists for costing and delivery of the scheme
• Liaising regularly with the sales team to ensure the design brief is followed
• Producing economic schemes to a given time scale
• Get sign off from the Design Manager to ensure designs are up to standard
• Liaise with the operations team for the delivery requirements
• Dealing with projects ranging from small hire sales for £10k up to large bespoke projects of circa £2m

The ideal applicant will be Design Engineer Heavyside Construction with:

• Ideally will have temporary works design experience, would consider civils, structural, groundworks, concrete, highways, formwork, falsework design experience
• Ideally will be from a civil engineering background
• Civils Engineering degree would be highly advantageous
• Must be familiar with design software such as AutoCAD / Revit
• Familiar with determining maximum bend moments, shear and deflection
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Tenacious, professional and high attention to detail
