TEXO Recruitment are looking to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer, on behalf of their Engineering and Fabrication division

Purpose of the Role:

The Role of the Senior Structural Engineer is to undertake engineering duties in relation to design, calculations, certification and code compliance on all assigned Texo Engineering projects.

To carry out all tasks as assigned by the Engineering Team Lead in a proactive and professional manner, mentoring and managing jnr and graduate engineers where applicable and ensuring adherence to the relevant Texo processes and procedures from an enquiry stage through to project completion.

To apply innovative design and analysis techniques to a wide range of projects from offshore drilling to renewable energy FEED studies and detailed design.

Knowledge of, and compliance with, client, industry and international specifications and standards.

Utilize existing knowledge of software systems such as Staad Pro, Autodesk Products & Mathcad to carry out structural analysis and code compliance checks, liaising directly with customers and certification bodies to ensure project requirements and timescales are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with applicable Industry Codes, Standards, and regulations as well as Client and Texo specifications & design philosophies.

* Produce structural models, FEA analysis, engineering calculations, reports, and recommendations.

* Attendance at client kick off meetings, progress meetings and design reviews.

* Communication with other disciplines on design and engineering issues.

* Technical support for live bids, live works & Input to project plans and schedules.

* Regular Communication with the Engineering Team Lead on project deliverables, changes to original design intent / deliverables required.

* Production and checking of documents and engineering design deliverables.

* Review of Supplier / Vendor documents & equipment specifications.

* Remain up to date with technical developments, client, national and international standards, and legislative requirements related to the position.

* Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner.

* Adherence to the company integrated management system.

* Asist with training and development of Graduate Engineers and development of Trainee Designers.

* Assistance with estimates by providing hours, resources and deliverables required for the scope of work.

* Upkeep of company engineering / technical standards, software, procedures, team training and development.

* Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations

* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations

* Supporting all functions of the business to work together

Manages / Supervises:

* Graduate Engineers

* Jnr Design Draughtsman

* Contract / Temporary based Engineering Personnel

Relationships:

* Develop strong working relationships with the Engineering and Design Team

* Communicate with other colleagues and departments for the mutual benefit of the Company.

* Maintain positive communication with peers and customers.

* Build and maintain relationships with project and fabrication team at all levels.

* Always serve as a company representative
