Water is one of the most important resources on the planet. The treatment and management of our water supply is a multi-billion-pound operation, with many industries, such as health care and manufacturing, relying on clean, mineral free water to operate effectively. Most of this water is produced on-site in bespoke water treatment plants.

Our client is one of the major organisations in the water treatment sector. With industry leading, state-of-the-art technology, they assist major clients like car manufacturers and food producers with the production of clean water. With our expertise, we help them find the best engineering and scientific talent so they can continue to provide a 5 star service.

Due to an internal reshuffle, we are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our clients team at their Birmingham headquarters. You will be responsible for the mechanical design of water treatment plants within specific projects. Liaising with clients, design engineers and suppliers, you will provide the mechanical knowledge required to design and produce these facilities.

To be successful in your application, you will have an mechanical engineering background, preferably in the water treatment sector (but this is not essential as other process plant design experience will be considered). Those with specific knowledge of pumps, electric motors and pipework are at an advantage. There will be the occasional requirement to travel to customer sites in order to fully comprehend the unique challenges they present.

Candidates with a HND or Degree in Engineering are at an advantage, as are those with knowledge and experience of 2D and 3D CAD design packages. Due to the nature of this role, and the need to collaborate with numerous colleagues across multiple teams, the majority of your time will be spent in the office.

In return, you will be provided with a competitive salary package, which includes a holiday entitlement, life assurance schemes, strong pension scheme, and other benefit packages. You will also discuss with your line manager about a personal training and development plan, enabling you to climb the career ladder.
