Civil Engineering Project Manager - Kent / Hybrid - £50,000 -£60,000 per annum, plus pension, healthcare, life assurance and bonus;
An opportunity for a civil engineer to work on the client side of the industry, and to gain management experience whilst benefiting from a secure and on-going workload. The position will suit an engineer with civil infrastructure experience gained in highways, roads, drainage, rail or an aligned civil engineering or engineering management discipline.
The Company: Our client owns and manages a substantial, expanding estate with extensive infrastructure that includes roads, pavements, drainage, buildings and specialist logistics facilities.
Your Duties: Reporting to the programme manager you will oversee the relationship with framework contractors delivering new, maintenance and upgrade projects, especially roads, drainage, paving and bridges. Working alongside a team of project engineers you will prioritise and programme work, monitor and forecast budgets, review contractor performance against KPI's measuring cost effectiveness, quality, safety and delivery performance.
About You: A degree in civil engineering or construction management, or equivalent. Five or more years work experience, which should have a civil engineering focus that includes an element of management/ project delivery. Experience of working on the NEC form of contract and an appreciation of health and safety and risk management. You will need strong organisational skills and be a good communicator. Your role will involve working with a range of stakeholders internally and externally. A valid driving licence is essential, occasional site visits will be required.
