Estimator civil engineering
DCS Recruitment are looking on behalf of a civil engineering & construction contractor based out of Manchester for an estimator to work in a consultancy/adhoc basis initally.
Both senior and junior level of experience are encourgaed to apply.
The client are looking for someone who is hungry to progress your career and can collabroate with the existing estimating and pre-construction teams and also can build excellent working relationships with their clients and directors of the company.
You will be required to estimate for projects across mainly civil engineering with some demoliton and construction projects with values of up to £3Mil.
This role will initally be on a freelance basis and working on projects when the client requires your services and hybrid working is allowed in this role.
You will be tasked with receiving tender enquiries and presenting the details to the Directors and agreeing to bid or not, complete the risk register, work with the rest of team to meet deadlines, sending out and vetting subcontract enquiries, conducting site visits as and when required and attending tender review meetings and present the financial elements of the tender in line with the clients' specification and help with post tender negotiations.
There is potential for this role to progress into something longer term or even a permanant position offer in the future for the right person based on performance and quailty of work

Your attributes:
- In depth knowledge of Civil Engineering and construction projects
- Must be familiar with first principle estimating
- Minimum of 5 years experience within a similar role
- Must have valid UK driving licence
- Ability to plan schedule and programme several estimations concurrently
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and commercial skills
- Proficient IT skills and use of microsoft and estimating software packages.
