Join our Ground Engineering team as a Pre Construction Manager and you can contribute to tangible, worthwhile work you can be proud of.

As a Pre Construction Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage teams to combine to develop work winning bids (specifically estimating and design). Use the members of the teams to their strengths and ensure support from outside the bid teams is provided where necessary.
  • Support the Work Winning Manager in the assessment and allocation of tenders;
  • Win the budgeted workload for their pre-construction team based on the pipeline opportunities;
  • Meet and debrief all Clients at the start of the tender period;
  • Be the lead Client contact during the tender period;
  • Lead the strategy for the bid - (level of input given, number of alternatives, budget or full tender) ;
  • Established a clear tender programme with a mid-bid review where required;
  • Manages the tender including: Scoping out the specific tender, deciding how it will be built, highlights our USP's, considers value Engineering, leads innovative solution development, manages and presents constraints and risk;


The following qualities and experience are required to fulfil the requirements of this role:
  • To be qualified to degree level in civil engineering or similar or have substantial experience in piling and ground engineering operations and design.
  • Must have a valid CSCS card.
  • Experience of managing teams, have in depth technical and market knowledge of Ground Engineering and has as an ability to demonstrate a strong customer focus.
  • Able to work to and hit tight deadlines under pressure
  • Capable of communicating effectively to both their own team and to external stakeholders.
  • Sound presentational skills are required.
  • Puts aside personal agendas to work for the benefit of customers and suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicates ideas, plans and priorities to others. Makes communication a priority so there are no surprises.
  • Plans and organises resources to safely achieve maximum efficiency and output.
  • Delivers results consistently.
