My client is a dynamic, modern, multi-discipline construction consultancy. Established in 1973, they have steadily grown to become a consultancy that offers a broad range of services to a diverse client base. They are now recruiting for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their Office in Poole, Dorset.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing structural designs and details across the wide range of projects, sectors
and clients they are involved with, under supervision of one of their Senior Engineers. In particular:

· Design of a variety of structures in all main UK construction materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry)
· Draughting in AutoCAD and Revit, as well as by hand, of such designs, and of designs prepared by other engineers
· Site visits and inspections to obtain information to allow designs to be carried out, or to inspect construction works as they progress
· Report writing following site inspection, or the like
· Working alongside other engineers and technicians within the company as a team to deliver projects
· Liaising with other construction industry professionals (such as architects) both inside the company and from external companies, as well as clients, including attending meetings and workshops
· Contributing to hazard elimination and reduction

Qualifications, experiences and attributes of the successful candidate: Minimum requirements
· BSc in Civil/Structural Engineering (covering main structural topics including structural analysis, geotechnics, structural design)
· Full, clean, driving license and own transport
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Good written and oral English
· Computer literacy (in Microsoft Office applications as a minimum)
· Enthusiasm, drive, and demonstration of the desire to create opportunity or make the most of opportunities to develop academic, engineering or life experiences

Preferred skills
· Some post-graduation industry experience, with knowledge of Eurocodes and/or British Standards in all main UK construction materials
· Understanding of typical building arrangements, load paths and various element design
· AutoCAD and/or Revit experience desirable
· Be prepared to travel UK wide and stay away from home on occasion
