I am looking to speak with a Geotechnical Engineer in High Wycombe looking to join a Geotechnical consultancy providing environmental and engineering consultancy services to clients in the construction sector.
Initially as a Geotechnical Engineer you will be undertaking Phase 1 desk studies as well as management, supervision and reporting of Phase 2 site investigations. In addition, the role will include site supervision of earthworks, ground improvement and quickly becoming involved in compiling geotechnical/geo-environmental interpretative reports and carrying out preliminary geotechnical design.
The ideal Geotechnical Engineer is likely to have a numerate degree and some knowledge and experience of the role described. Ideally you should be familiar with UK site investigation practice and have experience logging soils and rock to BS5930/Eurocode 7.
Requirements for a Geotechnical Engineer
You will have a first degree or equivalent in geology or equivalent
Must have at least 2 years' experience in the organization and supervision of a variety of size and types of site investigations
A good knowledge of health and safety requirements
Management of fieldwork activities and subcontractors Although not essential PTS qualified, with rail experience and MOD security clearance would be desirable but not essentialIf you require more information on this role do no hesiate to contact Louis Norton at Calibre Search Manchester on (phone number removed).
